Email brief
In this email, I channeled Matt’s authentic, straight-shooting personality to announce the Obsessed Garage M2CS giveaway. I leaned into his “tell it like it is” style—blunt, self-aware, and enthusiastic about cars without worrying about trends or outside opinions.
I captured Matt’s tone by:
• Honesty & Transparency: You openly explained that giveaways let him experience dream cars, while also giving fans the chance to own them.
• Authentic Car Enthusiast Voice: I detailed the quirks of the M2CS, Matt’s modding philosophy (OE+ look, no stock), and his love/hate relationship with BMW purists.
• Relatable Rants & Humor: The references to “fumbling in the garage” and “rage installs” carried Matt’s familiar mix of frustration and enjoyment.
• Attention to Detail: I walked readers through the purchase price, mileage, color choice, and build process in a way that felt personal and nerdy—classic Matt.
• Community Involvement: I highlighted how the audience is part of the build journey while still keeping the project “Matt-spec.”
The email closes with a clear, straightforward breakdown of how to enter the giveaway, keeping it practical and no-nonsense, just like Matt would.
Experience My ultimate m2 | email
I must be a glutton for this kind of punishment because here we go again with another giveaway. Most of you know that I’m not into “what’s popular” or “what other people are doing,” but we had such great success with the BMW E92 giveaway earlier this year that I wanted to do it again with my M2CS. I want to be completely honest here by saying giveaways allow me to experience cars I’ve always had an interest in which in turn gives you a chance to win them from me. Let’s be real, if you could own any of your favorite cars even for a few months and then turn around and flip it, wouldn’t you do it?
I was ready to do another car project and the M2 has always been a car I wanted to get my hands on, so in typical Matty fashion I didn’t just go out and get ANY M2; I got the ultimate M2: the F87 M2CS. Like any other vehicle I’ve owned, it has its quirks. The advantage of owning a car like this (or a Honda) is the ability to access the massive amount of options from a modification standpoint. I know some of you BMW purists will hate me customizing this thing but I don’t care. I don’t do stock and you don’t want stock. You want OG spec.
What makes these kinds of projects great is that I can involve you in the process. You have a chance to see me fumbling around in the garage, trying to get parts and pieces to fit while going on rants about things that make my blood boil. I enjoy it, despite what my face may exhibit at times.
I wasn’t 100% certain if I wanted an M2 long-term because I’m not a turbo kind of guy. I prefer naturally aspirated power delivery. In my opinion, naturally aspirated offers a better driving experience and delivers consistent power levels. I really wanted Hockenheim Silver which is the color of this M2. I love my white cars, but there’s something distinctive about this shade of silver. When it comes to cost, I did have to spend over $100,000 to get it. The sticker price on these cars comes in right under $90,000, but they are now selling for a significant used car premium. So, I had to spend over $100,000 to get this one. Granted, mine only had 3400 miles on it at the time of purchase and I’d guess it’ll have a few hundred more when I’m done with it. The cost didn’t concern me as much as getting the spec I wanted. This specific build gave me a solid foundation to build on so that I can have the M2 CS of my dreams.
Many of you will agree with my choices for this car. I chased that OE+ look that I’m fond of to make an already great car even better. One of the things I’m super proud of is instead of jumping in head first and decon’ing/paint correcting this thing right off the bat, I decided to do things the “right way” and do all of the modifications I wanted first, then decon and paint correct last. I will say, doing it this way was a much more enjoyable experience. If you’re interested in seeing all I’ve done to this thing so far, check out our M2CS playlist, there’s some quality content in there that includes a rage install. I’d like to think I’m done with all the modifications to this car, but with me, things can change in a moment. Until it’s officially gone it’s still mine, so you never know what surprise modification I may decide to throw in.
The key requisite for me to do a giveaway is putting the car together the way I want to not just for the giveaway, but as if I’m going to have it for a while. Whoever wins this thing will be extremely satisfied with the touches I put on it. Remember, the giveaway begins today 9/23 and will run through November 10th. Here's how to enter: Every $5 spent on specifically labeled giveaway products gets you an entry to win. So if you spend $5, you get one entry. If you spend $500, you get 100 entries. Additionally, signing up for a Hex Plus or Hex Lite membership will qualify for entries.
